Common Questions

We haven’t heard from our coach yet. When will we get info?

Some teams are finalizing rosters and coaching assignments. You’ll receive coach contact and schedule details **before the first game day**. Thanks for your patience while we honor friend/coach requests and fill open coaching spots.

Are teams mixed by grade (e.g., Kindergarten–2nd)?

Yes, this season K–2 are combined. Many families requested to play with friends across those grades, and honoring those requests created well-balanced mixed-grade teams. Most players are new, coaches act as QBs to balance play, and the experience is designed to be fun and even.

My player appears on an older team. Is that a mistake?

Occasionally a younger player requests to join an older group (siblings/friends). We try to honor that with coach awareness. If you’d prefer a same-grade placement, reply to your placement email or contact majorflagfootball@gmail.com and we’ll review options quickly.

Friend requests — can we join a specific team?

We do our best to honor friend/coach requests submitted during registration. If something was missed, email us with the requested team and we’ll help when roster sizes allow.

Uniform sizes — can we swap?

If you need a different size, check at the first game day’s uniform table. We keep limited extras for swaps. Coaches will help coordinate any remaining needs.

What should players bring on game day?

We provide jerseys, flags, and footballs. Players should bring **water** and **cleats** (or athletic shoes). Mouthguards are optional but encouraged.

Which schedule should I follow if there’s a conflict?

Please follow the **website schedule**. From time to time we adjust for late registrations or coach availability. Younger league: /schedule-1. Older league: /older-league.

Practice times and locations — who decides?

Coaches set practice times/locations. They will message the team once rosters are finalized. If a time consistently conflicts, let your coach know — most can accommodate within reason.

How do we become an official (paid)?

Email majorflagfootball@gmail.com with subject “Officials”. Include your name, age, Saturdays you’re available, and any prior experience. Pay is hourly; training provided.

Coach contact info

Coaches will email or text once rosters are set. If you haven’t heard anything and your teammates have, contact us and we’ll share the coach’s public contact email with you.

How will team uniforms be handled?

Uniforms are distributed on opening day or by coaches at practice. If your team is using a direct-order model this season, your coach will send the link and instructions.
