We are excited for another great season of football.
Major Flag Football is a youth 6-on-6 flag football league serving families throughout Salt Lake County, including Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights, Murray, Sugar House, East Millcreek, Olympus, Skyline, and the greater Salt Lake City area.
Our goal is simple: give kids more opportunities to play, learn, compete, and have fun.
With our 6-on-6 format, players stay involved throughout the game and get more opportunities to throw, catch, run, defend, pull flags, and make plays.
Our 6-on-6 format keeps players involved. With fewer players on the field, kids have more opportunities to touch the football, make plays, and develop real football skills.
We want players to leave the season with more confidence, better skills, and a greater love for the game.
Major Flag Football is a competitive league, but we believe kids can compete hard while still having fun and learning the game.
Our divisions are structured around the natural progression of youth football, giving players the opportunity to take on more responsibility as they get older.
Kindergarten and 1st Grade players play with a coach quarterback.
This allows our youngest players to get comfortable with the game, compete, make plays, and learn the fundamentals of flag football before taking over at quarterback.
Starting in 2nd Grade, players take over at quarterback.
Players begin developing their passing, decision-making, timing, leadership, and overall understanding of the game.
This also creates a natural transition as players get older and begin experiencing more traditional forms of football, including tackle football.
Major Flag Football is competitive youth football.
We keep scores and standings, play competitive games, and finish the season with championship games. At the same time, we want kids to have fun, play with their friends, compete with good sportsmanship, and enjoy being on the football field.
We believe the best leagues do both: they give kids a chance to compete while creating an experience they want to come back to.
Coach Quarterback
Our youngest division is designed around 6-on-6 flag football with a coach quarterback.
Player Quarterback
Beginning in 2nd Grade, players take over at quarterback and begin taking on more responsibility during the game.
Player Quarterback
Players continue to develop as quarterbacks, receivers, defenders, and overall football players while competing in a faster and more advanced division.
Player Quarterback
Our Junior High division provides an opportunity for older players to compete at a higher level while continuing to develop their football skills and understanding of the game.
Major Flag Football is designed to keep players involved throughout the game.
Our 6-on-6 format gives players more opportunities for:
Catches
Carries
Throws
Defensive plays
Flag pulls
Route running
Making plays
Learning different positions
More involvement means more opportunities to learn.
Our goal is to help kids build skill, confidence, friendships, teamwork, and a love for football.
That's great!
Major Flag Football is designed for both beginners and experienced players.
Kids do not need previous football experience to play. Coaches help players learn the fundamentals, understand positions, develop football skills, and build confidence throughout the season.
Whether your child is picking up a football for the first time or has been playing for years, there is a place for them at Major Flag Football.
